This moment and the dash...

I am still on my learning curve...it's a long one...learning to savour THIS moment. Whatever the moment is!

This quote from Table 6 at The Scrapping Studio's Mega Crop was another gentle reminder for me.

We had wonderful moments on Saturday. I was determined to take photos and, well, I thought I had done better than this...

Lovely gifts,
lovely prizes and lucky draws,
lovely ladies, creating lovely page layouts (5 of them)
And lovely shopping too!

Thank you to Audrey for hosting such a lovely event, and for sharing this poem (which you may already know)

The Dash

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash, what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left hat can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions to rehash would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?

It's Mega May time and some more bravery

My bag is packed for The Scrapping Studio's annual May MegaCrop...

Looking forward to meeting up with friends again (those I get to see at scrapbooking events!), and looking forward to sharing my double-page layout. It's one of five....the ladies are going to be busy :)

Here's a little sneak peek at what I'll be doing.

I know you're in for some really special treats. See you in the morning!

And this is a Daily Truth from Brave Girls from some a couple of weeks ago. I was away at the time, so sharing now...

Dear Fabulous Girl,

Every day you have the chance to be a tremendous blessing to someone else, in ways that you may never even recognize.

Even if you feel like you don't have a lot to give, or that you don't have the same kinds of things to give that others have, you definitely have gifts to offer that cannot be found anywhere else.

Share what you know. Treat others with kindness. Put yourself in another's shoes. Turn an unfortunately situation into a wonderful one. Thank someone with a thankless job. Do your best to really really really SEE another human being and go out of your way to show them that you SEE what they do, who they are, and what THEY have to offer.

When you give, no matter what you have to give, your life takes on new meaning, and you can't help but have an incredible day.

Thanks for everything you do, everywhere you go.

xoxo
